Modern resort accommodation close to the popular Dunk Island
Located on the coastal seafront of north-eastern Queensland, the Mission Beach Resort is an ideal gateway for those looking to enjoy the regions stunning scenery. Away from the hotel, guests can visit Mission Beach itself, as well as the accompanying sandy beaches further along the coast. One of the popular tourist destinations is Dunk Island, which is located four kilometres offshore. The island, which is a member of the Family Islands, features a vibrant mix of scenic flora and incredible wildlife.
The Great Barrier Reef, upon which Dunk Island can be found, is the busiest tourist attraction in the country. With Mission Beach looking out over the Coral Sea, many visitors take boat and seaplane trips to visit the stunning array of coloured corals and marine life. Those feeling a little more daring might like to venture out to the rainforests and parks that can be found to the west, below the looming gaze of the Great Dividing Range. Mount McKay National Park and Tam O Shanter State Forest can be found close to the Mission Beach Resort whilst Koombooloomba Lake and the Northern Queensland wetlands are somewhat further away.
