Active resort located in the centre of Victoria close to the Macedon ranges
Located in the heart of Victoria, about an hours drive from Melbourne, the Kyneton Bushland Resort offers guests a wide range of amenities and activities as well as a location in which to enjoy some of Australias beautiful landscapes.
The resort features 55 self-contained villas and apartments for guests to reside within. Each is equipped with a kitchen that includes cooktop and microwave/griller, crockery, cutlery and kitchenware, making it ideal for those looking to self-cater. A supermarket can be found in the town of Kyneton which is about four kilometres up the road. Alternatively, a number of outdoor barbecues are available for use around the resort.
Accommodation includes private bathrooms, of which some are en-suite, and living areas. Guests can expect the likes of a plasma television and DVD player, laundry facilities, hairdryer, dishwasher and heating/cooling unit amongst the amenities on offer. Each apartment comes with an outdoor area, which is constructed of decking in many of the properties.
The resort itself includes a wide range of amenities. Those actively minded guests can enjoy a few laps in the swimming pool, a game of tennis, squash, or volleyball, or even a kayak trip on the large lake that lies beside the report. The surrounding area is suitable for cycling. Guests can bring their own bike or hire one from the resort.
Those looking for something a little less energetic can indulge in a spot of fishing, a game of giant chess or mini-golf, or, for the ultimate in relaxation, make use of the resorts spa and sauna facilities. Lay back and relax as those stress knots are finally released from your body.
The Kyneton Bushland Resort also offers subsidised access to the nearby Kyneton Golf Club and Trentham Golf Club, ideal for those that have mastered the mini-golf course. The hotels games room, which includes billiards and table-tennis, is also ideal for low-impact activity.
One of the most enjoyable attractions on offer though is the splendid natural scenery, wildlife and landscapes surrounding the resort. Whilst sports and games are fun, theres nothing quite like a wonder in Australias fine wilderness.
The lake is an ideal backdrop for those that fancy a relaxing walk, featuring a number of tracks that demonstrate the finest in flora and fauna. A number of tours are organised by the resort staff, including treks through the bushland and along the River Campaspe. Some of these tours take in some of the wineries that are located in the region, offering visitors an opportunity to see the ins and outs of modern day winemaking as well as the chance to partake in some wine-tasting.
Those willing to venture a little further, and with a good pair of hiking boots, might enjoy a visit to the Macedon Ranges, and the famous Hanging Rock. This famous geological site is popular with climbers, although its recommended you dont try it unless youve had vast experience.
As guests at the Kyneton Bushland Resort make their way around the area they should keep their eyes peeled as the region is rich with wildlife, such as kangaroos, wallabies, and possums, the latter of which are happy to be hand fed.
