Historic accommodation close to Maines southern coastline
Located at the heart of the town center, the Kennebunkport Inn offers year-round traditional Maine accommodation that is seeped with history.
Having originally opened in 1899 as a tea merchants mansion, the inn itself is somewhat of a historical landmark, and often sought out by visitors to the Southern Maine town. The property today serves as a 3.5-star hotel with 49 individual guestrooms and suites.
The inn is separated into two buildings, the historic building (Main Inn) and the newer waterside building (Wharfside). Rooms and suites vary depending on their location but all feature a private bathroom with spa bath amenities.
Rooms also feature king and/or queen beds, individual climate control, cable television, telephone, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and wireless internet access.
The traditional New England inn also offers a number of other services for guests to enjoy during their stay in Kennebunkport. An outdoor pool with accompanying deck offers a fantastic locale from which to relax. With views of the Kennebunk River, sunbathing, reading, or just simply sitting during the warmer months is more than a passable way to spend time. The hotels front porch also offers a fantastic location from which to relax.
Those preferring to keep fit will find a number of exercise balls and bands as well as DVDs to assist with in-room work-outs. Alternatively, the Maine coastline offers a fine backdrop against which to jog or cycle. The hotel also has a favorable relationship with Webhannet Golf Course, for those that enjoy a spot of golf.
One Dock Restaurant at the Kennebunkport Inn serves traditional Maine cuisine, including fresh seafood. After a fine meal, guests can venture to the hotels piano bar for a course of entertainment and one or two tasty cocktails. In the morning, complimentary coffee is served alongside a continental breakfast, which features a few house specials. Outdoor dining is available during the warmer months.
The inn also offers a range of spa treatments, including deep tissue massages, Maine stone massages, and a host of skin and beauty treatments. The relaxed spa feels perfectly matches the slower pace of life to be found in Kennebunkport, ME.
Other services offered by the hotel include a guest computer area, bicycle rack (for those looking for an exerting vacation), and a library featuring books and magazines. Business travelers or those looking to host a celebratory function can make use of the wedding and meeting spaces.
Outside of the hotel, Dock Square offers a varied take on Maine life. As well as featuring a number of boutique shops and fine restaurants, this part of town also allows for a number of water activities along the wharf. Popular pursuits include fishing, swimming, and sailing. Boats can be chartered to head out onto the Atlantic Ocean either for a deep sea fishing excursion, or a sport of whale watching.
Back on firm ground, the Kennebunkport Inn offers easy access to a number of art galleries and museums as well as the Maine coastline and beaches. The town itself also houses the summer residence of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush.
