Out-of-the-way hotel located in a small town on Australias north-west coast
Located in the towns central district, the Karratha International Hotel is one of the finest hotels in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. As well as being closely linked to the towns shopping, business and entertainment, the hotel also features a range of amenities aimed at providing guests with a comfortable stay.
Each of the 4-star propertys rooms is stylishly decorated and comfortable. Private en-suite bathrooms are included as standard, as is a work desk and lamp, ideal for those staying in town on business. Bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, a couple of truly beneficial extra thanks to the regions high temperatures.
Other facilities to be found within include radio alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, mini-bar, in-room safe, toaster and kettle, and flat-screen television with in-house movies. Guests will find they are wanting in little whilst they stay at the International. A number of superior suites are also available that come with even more extras.
Guests at the hotel can make use of the swimming pool, which is picturesquely set amidst a lush tropical garden. Perfect for a few health laps or just a lazy day, the pool is popular with many guests that have passed through the hotels doors. Montbellos Poolside Bar offers chilled and refreshing drinks as well as woodstove cooked pizzas (between Thursday and Sunday).
An additional bar is open to guests at the Karratha International Hotel in the form of Geckos Saloon Bar. As well as serving an extended range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, the bar also offers lunch and dinner options. Its not just guests that enjoy the hospitality on offer here either; the bar is popular with locals also and has been voted best bar in Pilbara on multiple occasions. Tuesday night is home to the weekly quiz whilst Thursday is open mic night.
Those looking to dine in somewhat more formal surroundings should visit the Etcetera Restaurant which serves a mixture of local and international dishes. The wine list is extensive and again this is a popular haunt for locals and guests alike. Its also recommended that you book in advance. Alternatively, room service is available for those wishing to relax in their own surroundings.
The hotel also features a number of business services, as well as the capability to host corporate events.
Activities in the area are very much centred upon Pilbaras coastal location. As well as the Indian Ocean beaches, there are a number of conservation reserves just off of the coast. Dolphin Island Nature Reserve permits visitors to camp on the island, above the high tide marker of course. The island features scenic flora and fauna as well as a completely relaxed atmosphere. All of this occurs despite the busy seaports in the region. The other reserves are: Leda Nature Reserve; Enderby Island Nature Reserve; and West Lewis Island Nature Reserve.
Guests at the Karratha International Hotel that are hoping for something slightly less outdoorsy can visit the town aquatic centre, a handful of small parks, or the Karratha golf course.
