Convenient resort hotel located on the Islands north coast

Located on the esplanade just a few hundred metres from the seaport which serves Cape Jervis on the South Australia Coast, the Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort is readily accessible to all guest looking to enjoy the islands attractions.

Accessible by ferry from the mainland, the town of Penneshaw in which the resort is located is also well connected with the rest of the island, including its National Parks and conservation parks, via the B23 road.

The 22 rooms at the 4-star hotel are separated into three separate groups; ocean view, garden villa, and heritage. Ocean front rooms feature a private balcony and incredible views across the Investigator Straight. Garden villas feature apartments with both bedroom and living quarters that are set amongst the resorts tropical gardens. The heritage rooms are located in the original Sorrento Guesthouse and have been recently renovated to offer a stylish and comfortable stay.

All rooms, regardless of their type, feature en-suite bathroom facilities, television, tea and coffee making facilities, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, alarm clock, and hair dryer. Villas also feature self-catering kitchen areas with microwave and cutlery.

The hotel also offers a number of other services, including laundry, baggage hold, business services, internet connectivity including Wi-Fi, and tour booking. A solar power swimming pool is on offer to those that fancy a quick dip or a longer workout, whilst tennis courts and mini-golf prove an enjoyable distraction. The hotels sauna services, including masseuse appointments, are ideal for a relaxing end to the day.

The Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort is served by the Sorrentos, a restaurant serving fine local dishes and wines. With a fabulous ocean view the eatery is an ideal location to relax and watch as the world passes by. For those that need a little assurance, the restaurants consultant chef is famous international chef Andrew Fielke.

In terms of attractions its hard to argue against Kangaroo Islands, or KI as it locally known, diverse wildlife as being the number one thing to see during a visit. As well as the eponymous marsupials, which can be seen bounding along the roadside, the island is also home to small penguins, which will happily wander around the hotel grounds during the evening.

Deceptively large, Kangaroo Island also features the likes of sea lions, koala bears, platypus, possums, wallabies, bandicoots, and a vast number of bird species. Its not surprising to find that much of the island is protected conservational land. In fact, much of the vegetation on the island has never been cleared since its rediscovery in 1802. Visitors to the island can enjoy the many conservation spots in person as well as a number of National Parks.

Perhaps the best way to enjoy all of the wildlife and landscapes on offer is to take a guided tour of the island. Expert guides are able to point out the main features as well as add little titbits of mostly unknown information. Following the tour, head back to the Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort and enjoy a fine meal and a beautiful sunset.
