The Chebeague Island Inn - a truly unique Maine experience
The Chebeague Island Inn is located just outside of Portland, Maine on a small island and provides its guests with picturesque views, modern accommodations and classic New England hospitality.
The Chebeague Island Inn is a restored 1920s Greek Revival style hotel set on one of Maines most attractive and private islands. The hotel is only a 15 minute ferry ride from the mainland, making it easy to reach for anyone. The hotel has been providing guests with a unique traveling experience for more than a century. Guests can enjoy the famous Great Room, which features a large fireplace made of stone and many comfortable reading chairs. The front porch is the perfect place for morning coffee or an evening cocktail and provides wonderful views. The gardens are available for casual strolls and are the perfect place to play a round of croquet or badminton. The Inn also features a 9-hole golf course located at the Great Chebeague Club. Bicycle rides, bird watching, boating and fishing are also popular activities on the hotels grounds. Valet services are available to take guests to many of the islands destinations. High speed wireless internet is available throughout the hotel complex and is free to all guests.
Guests of the Inn can choose from 21 individually appointed guestrooms. Each guestroom contains queen sized beds appointed with custom linens. The beds provide Italian hem-stitched linens and down comforters. The rooms do not contain telephones or televisions, so that guests can enjoy the quiet solitude offered by the island resort. Each morning guests of the Inn are treated to a complimentary breakfast, which is prepared fresh daily by the Inns pastry chefs. Fresh coffee, teas and home-made snacks are offered with the breakfast.
The Chebeague Island Inn Restaurant is located on-site and provides creative dishes prepared with fresh and local ingredients. The restaurant offers an eloquent indoor dining room and a screened-in outdoor dining porch for outside dining. The atmosphere is casual-dressy and enjoyably relaxed.
The Inn is located only 30 minutes from Portlands International Jetport and only 2 hours from the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Guests of the Inn can easily walk to the Stone Warf, one of the islands historic docks. It has been newly refurbished and contains docks and private moorings available for guests with boats. The island itself is only 1 miles wide and 3 miles long, but it offers lots of recreational opportunities. With a history of sailing, boating is part of the hotels traditions. Casco Bay provides wonderful scenery and lots of watercraft activities. There are many rocky beaches to enjoy, as well as tennis, hiking and photography. The island has plenty of shopping experiences and Museums and Historical Societies to visit.
The Chebeague Island Inn is one of Maines most unique and private island experiences. With comfortable rooms, a wonderful restaurant and spectacular views, the Inn is the perfect place for a vacation away from it all or a romantic getaway.
