Part of the larger Macade Group which owns a number of luxury hotels and apartments through out Scotland, the Acorn Hotel in Glasgow is a particularly new 4-star boutique styled accommodation completed in 2008. Located right in the center of the action, between Charing Cross and the west end visitors will find them selves a stones throw from many of the main attractions, as well as a large selection of top brand label shops, fine dining restaurants and pubs. In fact Buchanan Street and George Square is just 15 -20 minutes stroll from the hotels front entrance providing visitors with both an excellent shopping experience and a peaceful place to relax.
The Acorn Hotel Glasgow has a unique dcor of its own with most of the rooms and interior spaces being designed by a world renowned local Scottish designer who has incorporated a clean modern style using a lot of natural light walnut wood furniture and fittings with soft colors to produce a bright airy and energetic atmosphere. The hotel is relatively small with only 18 different smoke-free rooms to choose from, including the single, double and twin types each with ample space and a range of quality amenities such as a large color TV with a selection of satellite channels, a clock radio, complimentary toiletries, an IDD telephone, a GHD hair press, a hairdryer, an iron, tea and coffee making facilities and a trouser press. There is also a room service menu which can be ordered from at certain times of the day; simply ask the receptionist about these specific times and what is available in terms of food and drinks.
In order to help guests quickly settle into their new surroundings the Acorn Hotel Glasgow offers a wide range of on-site facilities and services. Visitors who are worried about their valuables (such as passports) can store them in a security box kept within the reception area for extra safety, the same goes for luggage items which can be stored in a secure room for the duration of your stay. There is unfortunately no large on-site restaurant at the Acorn Hotel Glasgow, although there is a cozy bar that serves a wide variety of beers, wines and spirits as well as a range of light meals and snacks to wet your appetite before you hit the town. Overall the Acorn Hotel is an excellent choice of accommodation for both business and leisure guests looking for a comfortable and classy 4-star hotel. Though it does lack a few facilities, its central location allows easy access to a multitude of restaurants, bars and shopping options that more than makes up for this.
